I was watching the news just now and there was a story about someone in my state who was so close to being hit by a bolt of lightning this night while hurrying to her car in the rain. Thankfully, she only suffered minor injuries (cuts and scrapes) from falling on the road when it happened. I can't imagine what it would possibly feel like to be struck by a bolt of lightning.
Surprisingly, many people have unfortunately experienced this and lived to tell about it, which is absolutely amazing. I was on Wikipedia and it says that a bolt of lightning can reach temperatures up to 54,000 °F (30,000 °C ). I consider anyone to be extremely lucky (possibly magical) to survive something like this.
